Its bottom is nailed flush onto the bottom edges of the four drawer sides. The piece is in good condition. The top has been off to repair a crack. The drops might be original. The hardware is or iginal; the crudeness of the brass from wh ich it is made may indicate an American, rather than an English, or igin.
